Vidova Gora

Vidova Gora (Vidova Mountain) is not only the highest peak (778 m) on island Brač, but also the highest peak on all Adriatic islands. You just have to reach this unique sight-seeing point. Besides the breath-taking view on neighboring islands, you will have a chance to introduce yourself to Brač’s inland, and culinary delights. We recommend planning this as your half-day inland trip or combining it with your visit to Škrip, or Bol's famous beach Golden Cape. Ask your host for direction and other details.

Bol

Bol is perhaps one of the most famous Croatian tourist destinations due to the amazing beauty of its beaches, including the Golden Cape, and a vibrant nightlife. Bol is a heaven for all surfers, nudists and party animals who are bar hopping every night, and dancing in an open-air nightclub Faces overlooking the sea on weekends. On the other hand, Bol can also show you a more traditional face. Do not forget to taste Bol's trademark wine, the famous "bolski plavac". If you are open to more historic experiences, visit the Dominican monastery in Bol. A whole day stay is recommended.

Blaca

Blaca is the deserted Glagolitic monastery which begun its history in the cave of Ljubitovica. This monastery of unreal beauty, carved in cliff, is transformed into the museum; today, you can tour this whole monastery and estate just by ringing the ancient bell in front of the door. The most interesting parts include the stone bee-hives, famous observatory spot, and the stone "waterfall". A small fee applies.
There are two ways to get to Blaca, by car or with the boat. Whichever way you choose, you will need to spend some time walking in each direction. The hike is pretty steep, please make sure you are in a good physical condition. We recommend combining visit to the museum with the swimming trip on Blaca beach.

Murvica/Dragon's Cave

Murvica is a small deserted village located about 6 km west of Bol. The history of this place is written in the ruins of yet another deserted Glagolitic monastery. Make sure you visit the "Dragon's Cave” in Murvica monastery. Here you can observe the sculpture of dragon carved in stone hundreds of years ago. Archeologists believe this dragon statue was the expression of pagan beliefs of the first Brač's settlers.
Few hundreds meters below Murvica village, refreshing transparent seawater of Murvica beach awaits you.

Škrip

Škrip is the oldest island settlement. When you visit the museum in this peasant village, you will get to know better Brač’s history full of different cultures mingled through the centuries. Here you will find yourself surrounded by the ancient Illyrian walls built in Greek manner, and most likely by the Greek masters. Over these walls was also built a magnificent Roman mausoleum in the 3rd century. This mausoleum is still fully preserved. Croatian resistance fort was built centuries later, right next to the same wall.
It is amazing how this strange mixture of influences, from Illyrian cairns, sarcophagi, to towers and churches, survived crowded together in Škrip. Plan this historic tour as the half-day inland trip.
